After months of silence Ashley Dupre has finally spoken out with a personal message to her fans via her MySpace Page.  Our favorite call-girl-turned-celebrityish-type made sure to let her fans know that she has been very busy lately, and so if their friend requests to her got denied that they should resubmit the request because she wants to build up her network as large as possible.  In our opinion, this a savvy move by Dupre to build as large an online social network as she can.  For someone who fell backwards into the headlines, she has been very smart in how she has chosen to cash in on the opportunity.  To encourage her fans to continue to engage her through MySpace Dupre also includes bits of her “favorite” fan support emails.  It’s actually quite amusing the lengths people will go to in order to feel a part of something “famous.”  Check this one:

I love that a MySpace comment sent to a person who is being “persecuted” for having been exposed as a prostitute quotes Eleanor Roosevelt of all people.  That poor woman.

I’m not trying to slam Dupre here, but…what is there in this situation to “respect the hell out of”??
